Chuckles 103, Laughs 24, Belly Laughs 4
Notes: As I began watching this movie, I became concerned that the "funny parts" weren't making me laugh the same way they had the first time I'd watched the movie in 1992. Still, there were so many hilarous scenes that I'd completely forgotten about (i.e. Foxy Lady) that made this truly enjoyable again. At least half of my chuckles this time around would have been actual laughs and many of the laughs were belly laughs the first time I watched it but still, this movie holds up and is very funny. So many pop culture "things" originated in this movie: the use of "as if" was 3 years ahead of Clueless, "not" was years ahead of Borat, "that's what she said," many years before Michael Scott and The Office. This film features so many funny lines like, "If she were President, she's be Baberaham Lincoln" or "if Benjamin were an ice cream flavor, he's be pralines and dick!" People still use the "we're not worthy" that pays homage to this movie. Dana Carvey and Mike Myers are incredibly funny, Tia Carrere is super hot and it's quite the coincidence that the movie I just reviewed prior (Tommy Boy) also featured Rob Lowe as the antagonist and had Chris Farley in them (much smaller role here). Would I watch it again? Yes
