Chuckles 17, Laughs 10, Belly Laughs 2
Notes: This is a weird movie. I saw it was leaving Netflix soon so I rolled the dice and watched it. I'm glad I did! When two aspiring actors meet in an acting class and travel to LA to become stars - sounds like an all-too-familiar story. But in this one, one of them has talent, the other one (without talent who and is from God-only-knows-where-in-the-world with that crazy accent) doesn't make it, he takes things into his own hands and writes a movie. This film stars James Franco in really my favorite role ever. James is also the director. It also stars Dave Franco (who I was not familiar with) and features Seth Rogen. This is an A24 Film. Need I say more? Whowsa! I can see how it created a cult following. Weird. Would I watch it again? Yes. I feel like I need to just to take it all in and see it in all it's splendor.

Chuckles 28, Laughs 11, Belly Laughs 5
Notes: I'd not seen this movie in many years and I'd forgotten that the premise is a bit like Toy Story where, outside of the watchful eye of the public, things we see (in this case, the bones, taxidermy and wax replicas of heroes from yesteryear) come to life. Love the idea and I'm a huge fan of Ben Stiller and his movies. This movie has a ton of stars including Dick Van Dyke (as a bad guy - how 'bout them apples?), Ricky Gervaise, Robin Williams, Rami Malik, Owen Wilson, Mickey Rooney and more. It's a great story and is fun to watch and I've actually watched all 3 of the films in this franchise and are super cute to watch with kids. It really made me miss Robin Williams - RIP! He did a stellar job of portraying Teddy Roosevelt. Would I watch it again? Yes. |
