69. This is Spinal Tap (1984) - 72 Points
Chuckles 32, Laughs 19, Belly Laughs 9 Notes: I'd never seen this movie before but it was rated in the top 10 and actually #1 on other people's lists of funniest movies of all time so I thought I'd check it out. I fell asleep part way through but that was my fault for going to sleep at 3am the night before. When I played the DVD (I couldn't find it streaming anywhere) for the second time, I found that I liked it. This is a mockumentary of a rockumentary filmed/narrated by Meathead (Rob Reiner). I was so intrigued by Michael McKean who I loved as Squiggy (on Laverne & Shirley) and I'm currently watching him "Better Call Saul." He really does a great British accent and it seems like he's actually playing guitar and; singing - quite brilliantly! I enjoyed cameos by Billy Crystal and Dana Carvey (who appear as mime-waiters). The bit with Stonehenge was hilarious as was the Cleveland show where they couldn't find their way to the stage. It's a funny movie and I can see why it's so iconic though I can't see how anyone could give it a top 10 billing on the list of the funniest movies of all time. We'll see if it can hold on to a spot on my top 100. I hope it does but I still have 200 movies to watch and score. Fingers crossed! Would I watch it again? Maybe.
