Chuckle 61, Laugh 23, Belly Laugh 5
At the beginning of the film you wonder if this is a Hispanic version of Ferris Bueller's Day off with John Leguizamo singing in the shower. The Antagonist is Jeffrey Jones (Mr. Rooney) but that's where the differences stop. I'm a huge fan of John Leguizamo and have seen his comedy act in person on two occasions and I think he's extremely talented and extremely funny. The acting is weak and this film reminds me a lot of Beverly Hills Ninja with Chris Farley. That being said, John Leguizamo really does shine and he reminds me a lot of Bugs Bunny dancing, joking and being silly in the face of a dangerous situation. I did laugh (mostly chuckle) but I almost stopped watching twice. If you're a fan of John Leguizamo, he's at his comedic best in this film. 78.5 points.
