The Men Who Stare at Goats (2009) - 38.5 Points
Chuckles 29, Laughs 9, Belly Laughs 5 Notes: This is a movie that I had saved (on my Netflix list) for well over a year and finally got around to watching. The title intrigued me. It has an interesting plot line, a report searching for himself (Ewan McGregor) stumbles upon a story that involves a top secret military program to develop solders with psychic powers, who were lead by Jeff Bridges. The main character is George Clooney who reportedly stared at a goat and caused its heart to stop beating. These psychic soldiers call themselves "Jedi's" which is particularly humorous as George Clooney tried to explain to Ewan McGregor what a Jedi is. I found myself chuckling a lot throughout the movie. They referenced the "Dim Mak finger death touch" method of killing, which I found particularly entertaining as I remembered ordering this manual as a teen from a classified listing in the back of Soldier of Fortune magazine! Although it clearly was not going to score enough points to make it on the top 100 funniest movies of all time list, it was amusing/compelling enough to watch this all the way through. Would I watch it again? Probably not but it's worth watching at least once if you like any of these actors and want to see something interesting that you've never seen before.
