Notes: Mel Brooks strikes me as the kind of guy who just never "grew up" which would explain why his movies have always been especially popular among teens and that could be good or bad depending on your point of view. For me, seeing this movie as an adult, it's more of a "chuckler" than a laugh out loud, hilarious comedy. I watched Naked Gun 2 1/2 immediately after this movie and it is funny on a whole different level even though both are kind of silly, mindless comedies. It totally works in the Naked Gun series and it kind of works in this movie and most of Mel Brook's movies. Dave Chappelle is in this movie and he was incredibly under-utilized. I'm glad I watched it. Would I watch it again? No. ​
