It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) - 18 Points
Chuckles 26, Laughs 5, Belly Laughs 0 Notes: This movie has the most star-studded cast of any movie I've ever seen. If you were a "hot actor" or comic or screen legend in the 1950's and early 1960's, it's likely you were in this movie. A chase for $350,000 ($3.3M in 2022) that is buried in a park leads a free-for-all treasure hunt. It's an entertaining movie but honestly, the constant yelling by all parties but in particular by Ethel Merman (who incidentally put out a disco album in 1979, which I own) throughout the film becomes grating. I loved the scenes where her son (the beatnik played by Dick Shawn) is twisting the day away with his girlfriend the most. Maybe because they weren't yelling but were hyper-focused on the music. Would I watch it again? No.
