Chuckles 30, Laughs 2, Belly Laughs 1
Notes: This is a Holiday favorite for lots of people and it's yet another movie that I'm embarrassed to say, I've never watched before. I'd seen parts of it here and there. I saw the iconic Macaulay Culkin face with the two hands on his face and I knew that Joe Pesci was in it but it just didn't seem very appealing to me. The movie is written by John Hughes who wrote so many famous comedies that will live on forever. It's directed by Chris Columbus so it has quite the pedigree. Also, kids (and adults) still seem to love it so I made time to watch it to see what all the hubbub was about. There are quite a few chuckles and I can see why kids dig it. It's not the funniest holiday movie but as long as there are new kids watching it every year, it likely will likely endure for years to come. Would I watch it again? No. Not unless I was watching it with a grandchild and even then, it would be to watch their reactions to the movie as they see someone like them getting the best of "bad guys."
