48. City Lights - Charlie Chaplin (1931) - 67 Points
Chuckles 38, Laughs 27, Belly Laughs 7 Notes: I'm a fan of Charlie Chaplin and have seen several of his movies at the historic Tampa Theatre, which opened 5 years before this film and would have shown it when it was originally released. To see these silent films with an expert organist who provides not only the music/soundtrack but the sound effects is truly a special and I'd highly recommend it as your thrown back to another era. Everyone knows who Charlie Chaplin is but few have seen his films. I'd argue that Charlie Chaplin are to comedies what the Beatles are to rock music. This is actually one of the first romantic comedies every made. The fact that it scored 67 points without a single word being uttered is incredible. The comedy in this film comes in the form of facial expressions, funny situations and clever choreographic with perfect timing. I watched this movie on HBO + and loved it. Would I watch it again? Yes.
