Broadcast News (1987)

I had no interest in watching this film when it came out probably because of the name and it just looked boring. Still, it had been recommended to me by a friend and I'd seen it on an "experts" list so I was hoping that I'd be happily surprised, like I was when I watched, "A Fish Called Wanda." This might be a "good" movie with great performances by talented actors but it seemed more like a drama than a comedy. It just didn't do anything for me. I found it only mildly funny with 6 chuckles, 0 laughs, 0 belly laughs in 40 minutes. I know some movies start slow but honestly, you know what kind of movie you have at the 40 minute mark. If I can't get at least a couple of laughs or maybe 10 chuckles by that point, I have to cut bait as there's no chance that it's going to score enough points to make it into the top 100 comedies of all time.  This might be a "great" movie with wonderful actors but it seemed more like a drama than a comedy.
