51. Bringing Up Baby (1938) - 62.5 Points
Chuckles 35, Laughs 30, Belly Laughs 5 Notes: This is the second Cary Grant movie that I watched/scored and, as with the first, I was quite entertained. It seems that most modern comedies are coming age of stories and/or stories with humor that revolves around sexual/party themes, the premise of many earlier movies like this are much less predictable/more original. The premise of this comedy involves a paleontologist on the verge of marriage who encounters a most unusual woman (who turns his life upside down) and her leopard (named "Baby"). It's a wild premise! Although Katharine Hepburn is beautiful (and a wonderful actor), I'd have wanted to kill her character if I were Cary Grant. This is a sometimes stressful, often frustrating and constantly funny film. Would I watch it again? Yes.
