Adams Rib (1949)
I'd not heard of this movie until I saw it on someone else's list for "funniest movies of all time" so I thought I'd check it out. After all, I loved Katherine Hepburn in Bringing Up Baby the year before this film was released. The premise: a woman shoots her cheating husband (who survives being shot) and Katherine represents the woman and Kathryn's husband (Tracy Spencer) represents the man who was shot, which creates a fun dynamic. It shines a spotlight on the way society treats women differently than men and overall equality. Although it's a good film and is entertaining, I didn't find it a laugh out loud movie other than a few chuckles here and there. You will find it on the NOPE list.
